Not this year.
Yes. For collaborations, only one person should submit the piece. When submitting, you will be asked for contact information for each collaborator.
Yes, except for a cappella arrangements. Piano or organ accompaniments are preferable for choral arrangements and arrangements for solo/duet/quartet. To ensure the best representation of your work, we encourage using live instrumentation—such as a piano or other instruments—instead of a computer-generated rendering. It does not need to be professionally recorded.
All submissions must include sheet music and a simple recording of the piece. To ensure the best representation of your work, we encourage using live instrumentation—such as a piano or other instruments—instead of a computer-generated rendering.
No, please submit a link to a recording of your song with your submission.
Please email byuwcmusic@byu.edu for technical support.
Yes, unless the work is in the public domain. If your submission is an arrangement of a copyright protected work, you will need to obtain permission from the copyright holder to arrange the work and publish the arrangement.
Permission can be requested through the copyright holder. For hymns and songs owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, please request permission at permissions ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
Permission should be given before you submit or share your music. Keep in mind, obtaining permission takes time, so we recommend that you reach out as soon as possible. If you are concerned about receiving permission before the submission deadline, please email byuwcmusic@byu.edu.
The BYU Women’s Conference License Agreement grants BYU permission to make use of your work. If your submission is your original work, you still own your work when you sign the agreement.
Yes, as long as you hold the rights and copyright, and granting BYU a license will not be in conflict with any licensing agreement you have previously entered into.
Submissions are reviewed anonymously by members of our music subcommittee.
If your submission is selected, you will be notified by email by mid-February 2026.
Selected music may be performed during the 2026 BYU Women’s Conference and/or published on the BYU Women’s Conference website, social media accounts, etc.
If selected, your submission will be performed at one of the sessions during the 2026 BYU Women’s Conference. You will receive a complimentary conference registration so you can hear your piece performed. Please note that travel, meals, and lodging are not provided and will be at your own expense.
As a general rule, we would ask an experienced, professional vocalist(s) or musician(s) to perform the piece. The Marriott Center is a large venue, and performers need extensive experience to perform there.
You can review a sample licensing agreement; however, the actual agreement will be done electronically at the time you submit your music. Do not submit this sample.
Please email byuwcmusic@byu.edu.
