Carol Salmon

Carol Salmon proudly claims Calgary, Alberta, as her hometown! After graduating from high school and working in a law firm, a friend “dared” her to apply to BYU. It was a surprise to everyone when she was accepted.

After dabbling in Elementary Ed and Sociology, Carol graduated with a Music Education/Choral degree, and several years singing in both the Women's Chorus and Concert Choir at BYU. Rather than work in her field, she joined BYU Continuing Education—first with Education Week, then BYU Women’s Conference, then as part of the Marketing team, and finally ending up in the basement of the Harman Building with a band of brothers, a bunch of studios, and absolutely no natural light.

The music degree came in handy several years after graduating when she passed both the technical test and live audition to become a member of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. She spent nearly 20 years singing with the Choir as well as fulfilling additional Choir assignments on the missionary and hosting committees.

Her jobs in the Harman Building have opened many creative doors. Creating etiquette videos with Sandi and MEE (Mary Ellen) have been the best memories! Now, if only she could find her baton.
